Dear Fellow Investor,

Eight is the luckiest number!

As many of you already know, the Chinese view the number 8 as lucky -- or representing wealth and prosperity -- and that's why the Beijing Summer Olympics kicked off on August 8, 2008 at 8:08 p.m. But with the first week of the Games over and the final days slipping by, I'm sure that more people are seeing 8 as a lucky number…

Particularly, American swimmer Michael Phelps. His pursuit for Olympic gold was truly one for the history and record books, as he smashed seven world records in eight swims in route to an unprecedented eight gold medals. This incredible feat pushed him past Mark Spitz's 1972 record of seven gold medals.

There's no denying that this was probably the greatest achievement in all of sports. And there's no doubt in my mind that Phelps is the greatest Olympic athlete in Beijing.

Aside from Phelps, the Chinese have also made their Olympic dreams a reality. In gymnastics and diving alone, the Chinese athletes claimed a total of 24 medals, with nine golds in gymnastics and seven golds in diving.

The Beijing Olympic Games have definitely lived up to my expectations. I'm particularly excited this week to continue watching the U.S. basketball team dominate its opponents by wide margins, and finally view some of the events in person. I'll be visiting the Water Cube to see the water polo finals and attending the Closing Ceremonies at the Bird's Nest.

These two weeks have truly been an incredible display of athleticism by participants from around the globe. And I think the success and presentation of the Beijing Olympics will project a more positive image for China to the rest of the world.

Potential for a Bounce

Right now, I'm in China -- Shanghai, specifically -- conducting some research before traveling to Beijing to enjoy the remaining athletic events and the Closing Ceremony with my family. What I've learned, so far, has me very excited about the Chinese stock markets' prospects through the end of 2008.

There is an increasing likelihood that the Chinese government will reverse its strict monetary tightening policy and focus on economic growth. This potential move couldn't have come at a better time -- as much of the world is expecting a dramatic slowdown in China's economic growth after the Olympics.

I'm anticipating a slowdown in China's economic growth, as well, but I don't think it will be nearly as dramatic as the United States. I'm expecting China to grow around 8% this year, which is still a strong growth number.

And strong economic growth coupled with the Chinese government moving towards a monetary easing policy will bode well for Chinese stocks -- particularly the companies I'm recommending in China Strategy. I'm watching this situation closely, and advising my China Strategy subscribers to focus on fundamentally strong and growth-oriented Chinese stocks to benefit from this bounce.

Actually, I just made a new recommendation today on a leader in China's security and surveillance industry. In the short term, this company is benefiting from the Olympics tight security measures, and over the long term, it will profit from the industry growth of more than 20% annually in China over the next several years.

I don't want you to miss the 50% profits I'm expecting in this company by the end of the year, or the money to be made in Chinese companies as the country's stock markets resume their uptrend. To find out the best ways to profit from Chinese stocks move higher, join China Strategy today.
