Dear Fellow Investor,
Greetings from China! On Friday, I embarked on yet another journey through Asia. I am currently co-hosting the InvestorPlace Media Kingdom of Jade and Pearl Investment cruise with fellow newsletter editor John Dessauer. We will be docking in many cities that I've visited before, but with the incredible growth happening across the region, there's always something new to experience and learn about investing in Asia.

Wheat prices are on the rise again. For the second time this year, China has raised its minimum purchase prices for rice and wheat, according to the National Development and Reform Commission. The government is hoping to boost farm production and curb inflation. Join China Strategy today to find out which one of my China Strategy recommendations stands to benefit from this increase in prices. We're up 31% in just five months. |
The first stop on the tour was in Beijing. While Beijing hasn't been on my list of favorite cities in China, I was quite impressed with how much it's improved since my last visit. Beijing is definitely taking the upcoming Olympics very seriously and has really increased the city's overall efficiency in several areas in preparation for this international event. Here are a few important insights about Beijing that I picked up while in the city:
- The air quality is much better, mainly due to factories relocating beyond the city limits to other parts of the country.
- Beijing is suddenly the cleanest city in the world–I no longer see trash littering the city's sidewalks and roadways, which demonstrates the people's pride in their city.
- Its airport was very efficient. I travel a lot, and I find that the state of a country or city's airport sheds a great deal of light on what is going on in the region. I was impressed when I only waited about 15 minutes at baggage claim to receive my luggage, compared with hour-long waits at airports in other parts of the world.
The August Olympics served as a catalyst to hasten the improvements in Beijing, although the city was already headed in that direction. The improvements in Beijing are a great example of the kind of growth happening all over China today. I won't lead you to believe that every city is moving this fast towards cleaner, more efficient and more productive living, but change is happening across the country and this is excellent news for investors.
Now is the time to take advantage of the growth happening in China as the country continues to become more efficient. As my China Strategy subscribers can tell you, the opportunities in China are real and of the life-changing variety. Join China Strategy now
to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the upcoming Olympics and the growth that I know China will experience after the Olympics.I'll be on the cruise for the next two weeks, and along with Beijing, we'll be traveling to Dalian, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Osaka, Japan. It's always great to visit this incredible country and see personally what's happening there right now, and how it's playing into my strategy for investing in China's massive economic growth.
A Surprise Inspection
Coming to China is always enjoyable to me. I love visiting new restaurants, hotels and attractions, but there's work to be done. I always make sure that I visit a company or two during my trips to make sure that the companies I'm recommending are on track. I also use these visits to scope out new investment opportunities based on my boots-on-the-ground research.
This trip I visited one of my favorite education services companies that I currently recommend in my China Strategy service. This company is a dominant player in an extremely fragmented market -- it's nearly seven times bigger than its #2 competitor. Though I have stopped in on this company before, this time I wanted to visit to find out how it plans to maintain its high growth rate, as well as experience its programs firsthand.
We've been following this company since October 2006, and my subscribers are sitting on a nice 190% gain so far. Naturally, after that kind of run, as an investor you begin to wonder if the best is behind you and if it's time to take gains. After talking with management and touring the facilities, I'm more confident than ever that this company hasn't seen the end of its spectacular run and that investors would still be wise to get on board now. Join China Strategy today to get the full details on this education services company right away.
China holds a wealth of opportunity that you just cannot afford to ignore. Right now, I'm traveling to multiple destinations in China to conduct research on the current economic environment in this country. I'll be returning with stories, data and insight into the best places to put your money for maximum gains. Don't miss out. Join China Strategy!
